Redesigned Honda Accord Coupe Amazes at Detroit Auto Show

There are many reasons that drivers have fallen in love with the Honda Accord since its U.S. debut in 1982. From its comfortable and roomy interior, intelligent drive, and reliable reputation, there's always been a lot to love about this Honda sedan. That's why Roberts Honda was so excited to see the premier of the 2013 Honda Accord Coupe concept earlier this month at the Detroit Auto show. The Coupe will hit production lines (after a few small tweaks) later this year.

The new Accord Coupe will be a part of the ninth generation of Accord vehicles. It will feature a more aesthetically-pleasing look, featuring subtle rear fender flares, and a rising beltline and will be sold along with a new Honda Accord sedan in fall 2012. This is the first redesign of the Accord since 2007, and it includes the Japanese automaker's first direct-injection engine, which will increase fuel economy. The new Coupe's engine is an Earth Dream 2.4-liter inline 4-cylinder direct injection engine that produces 181 horsepower; a V6 engine will be offered as well, with a choice of automatic or manual transmission.

2013 also marks the return of the Honda Accord Hybrid, which has been absent from the brand's lineup since the 2007 model year. A plug-in system will be offered with three drive modes: gasoline-electric, "direct-drive," and all-electric.
