2013 Honda Fit EV Coming Soon!

For months Roberts Honda of Downington, PA heard about eco-smart green car drivers overseas purchasing Honda Fit EV cars and wished these vehicles were available in the U.S. Luckily for us, things are changing. Canada and the U.S. will also soon receive their own Honda Fit EV vehicles. The Honda Fit EV arrived recently at LA Auto Show in production form, and it was later showcased at a media event at Tokyo's Motor Show. Both were a huge success, and assured Honda that the vehicle would have fans of all ages in any market.

The Fit electric motor is similar to the one found in Honda's zero-emission FCX Clarity fuel-cell E. The Fit's motor will create 123 horsepower and 189 lb-ft of torque and will be powered by a 20-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. EPA estimates put the Honda Fit EV around 76 miles per charge, though Honda was anticipating for over 100- a figure we should eventually see as EV technologies improve. The new Fit's battery pack is mounted underneath it's frame, which results in a raised floor three-inches higher than the standard model's, but with very high ceilings in place, it doesn't reduce the perceived roominess of the vehicle by very much. The vehicle also has flat-folding rear seats that will allow for better space and storage capacity.

Honda Fit EV leases are estimated to have a fee of about $399 per month, with availability beginning in the summer of 2012. Production is limited to only 1100 cars, which will only be accessible in select markets, so if you're interested in purchasing or leasing this new Honda vehicle, be sure to contact us for more information!
